Four of the North East's Hospices (St Teresa's, St Benedict's of Sunderland, St. Cuthbert's of Durham and Butterwick of Bishop Auckland) have come together with 'One Wish'- to extend and improve the vital services we provide to local communities, All four Hospices rely very heavily on the generosity of the people we serve to enable us to carry on our work.
By supporting the 'One Wish' Lottery you will be assisting your local Hospice and you also stand the chance of winning a very nice cash prize, each week, of up to £2000. Every pound is precious and we thank you for your valued support.
Details
The lottery is based on £1 entry per number. When you join, you are given a unique 5 digit number. You can pay your entry by Standing Order, Advance cheque (send a cheque for £13 minimum and we will send you a reminder when it is due again) or, if available in your area, we may have a collector to call on you on a 4 weekly basis. The draw is conducted every Friday and 150 prizes are awarded to lucky members.
- 1st Prize is £2000
- 2nd Prize is £125
- 3rd Prize is £75
- 4th Prize is £50
- 5th Prize is £25
- and then there are 145 Prizes of £5.
There is no need to claim as the winners are sent the cheque by post. The top 5 winning numbers are printed in the Northern Echo and the Sunderland Echo.

It is your local Hospice that benefits from your generosity and without it, the Hospice could never provide the world-class services that they do for the local people of this area. With every year which goes by, the support of 'One Wish' lottery members becomes more important to St Teresa's Hospice. The quarter share to our Hospice raised through this lottery is a major proportion of our total income (just over 13% in the last year). This contribution is put towards the general running costs of the Hospice, which now stand at £1.5m a year; helping us to provide In-Patient Respite and Terminal Care, Hospice at Home, Day Care, Complementary Therapies, Counselling and Bereavement Support Services and advice to the people of South Durham and North Yorkshire.
The majority of our own team of over 400 Volunteers are regular subscribers, and we promote "One Wish" at every possible opportunity as a way of supporting 4 good causes and enabling them to keep providing vital services across the whole of the North East.
