Like Your Lycra

A quick dip to celebrate!

Members of staff from a local training &recruitment firm spent a weekend strapping on helmets and squeezing into spandex as they took on a coast to coast cycle challenge in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice.

Team ‘Like Your Lycra’ from the Nordic Focus Training Group tackled the 140 mile route to support their firm’s chosen charity. The team consisted of Peter Robinson, Kully Brooks, Dennis Brooks, Andy Fordham, Marty Wright, Chris Irons, Neil O’Connor, Richie Hawkins and Shane Morton, with support from Chris Trotter and Dave Spencer.

Three days after setting off from St Bee’s Beach in Cumbria, the team finally reached their destination at Seaton Carew on the opposite side of the country. In total, the Like Your Lycra team have raised£1,708 towards our vital work!

St Teresa’s Hospice Chief Executive Jane Bradshaw said: “Peter Robinson and Kully Brooks of Nordic Focus Training Group are shining examples of people who make a difference personally, and through their company. They provide opportunities which create purposeful employment for young people and they demonstrate, by involving trainees in helping in the community, that supporting good causes such as St Teresa’s Hospice is both fulfilling and enjoyable. Not only this, but they have personally energetically supported the Hospice through their fundraising, and I am very grateful to Peter, Kully and their colleagues for their latest marathon cycle fundraising effort! Everyone at the Hospice is really glad that they are our friends, and proud to see this important partnership flourishing.”

You can still support the team by visiting www.justgiving.com/likeyourlycra - they may don their lycra once again!
