Dedicated Supporters Honoured for Service

A group of St Teresa’s Hospice supporters have been honoured for their long-service and outstanding contribution to our charity at a special evening reception.

Volunteers, supporters and members of staff were thanked during the event at the Hospice on Woodland Road, with a number of people presented with certificates acknowledging 10 years of service to the Darlington & District Hospice Movement. They were:

Lorna Clarkson
Hospice Regional Retail Manager
Jean Hay
Hospice Shop Volunteer (Darlington)

 Olga Lambert
Hospice Shop Volunteer (Leyburn)
Alison Marshall
Head of Nursing
Paul Martin
Hospice Receptionist & former Health Care Assistant
Kath McLeod
Fundraising Volunteer
Gwendoline May
Hospice Shop Volunteer (Leyburn)
Lin Vaughan
In-Patient Unit Sister

Invited but unable to attend to collect their award were:

  • Denise Philip, Finance Team
  • Veronica Gould, Hospice Shop Volunteer (Leyburn)
  • Dorothy Griffiths, Day Hospice Volunteer
  • Dorothy Foster, Hospice Shop Volunteer (Shildon)

Supporters who have previously been awarded the rare honour of being named a Lifetime Member of the Darlington & District Hospice Movement for outstanding contribution to the cause also attended the event.

The support these people give, and that which is given by others like them, means that the Darlington & District Hospice Movement not only exists and provides the highest standard of care today, but will continue to grow and develop into the future. On behalf of all the patients and their fellow volunteers, supporters and members of staff of the Hospice, we offer them a very heartfelt ‘thank you’.
