Welcome to the website of St Teresa's Hospice
(Registered Charity Name: Darlington & District Hospice Movement)
St Teresa's Hospice provides:
Hospice at Home, Day Care and In-patient Care for people across South Durham and North Yorkshire.
The Hospice Philosophy is to help people suffering from life-limiting illness towards the best possible quality of life, and to help and support their carers by providing respite, counselling and advice services.
At The Woodlands, the Hospice's base in Darlington, Day Care provides a range of therapies and social activities, and our In-patient unit provides residential, terminal and respite care.
Respite care is in patients' own homes provided via the Hospice at Home team.
Our Family Support Service provides individual counselling to patients and/or relatives/carers, and the Team gives bereavement support both to individuals and in group settings. Butterflies is a brand new service, where St Teresa's Hospice will provide help and ongoing support for children and young people who have lost a parent, or other loved one, to terminal illness.
The Hospice was formed following a public meeting in 1986, and we are privileged to serve the local community by providing excellent Palliative Care; our work only continues thanks to the support of many individuals, groups and organisations.
