Registration for our Santa Run 2021 is now closed, thank you to everyone who has entered to join us at West Park Academy on Sunday 5th December for our family favourite festive fun run!

Every participant will receive a Santa suit, or a hat for children. Dogs are welcome too! You can complete the circuit at your own speed, and as an early Christmas present you will receive a medal and refreshments when you cross the finish line!

Please be aware of a few things on the day to help the event go as smoothly as possible:

Getting there:

The run is taking place at West Park Academy, Alderman Leach Drive, Darlington, DL2 2GF

Car Parking:

  • There are plenty of car parking spaces in and around the West Park Village shopping and residential area. We politely ask that you do not park in the White Heifer That Travelled car park –but our fantastic friends are also offering you 20% off food so why not pop in for your lunch after the event? Take along your letter or simply arrive in your Santa suit! The offer applies to food only and must be used on Sunday 5th December
  • If you park on-street please be considerate to residents.

  • Check-In is located in West Park Academy school hall. Please arrive between 10:00am and 10:45am – please make sure you leave plenty of time to collect your Santa suit and get changed.
  • The fun run starts for everyone at 11am – you will be called to the Start Line in your group, i.e. Santa Sprinters, Reindeer Runners, Elf Amblers.
  • There will be plenty of stalls to browse before and after your run, so don’t forget to pick up some Christmas goodies including cards, wrapping paper and delicious puddings!

  • On arrival, please proceed to the Main Hall at West Park Academy, where you will be guided to the Check-In desks. Please go to the correct desk for your surname:
    • Desk 1 for A-F
    • Desk 2 for G-M
    • Desk 3 for N-S
    • Desk 4 for T-Z
  • Please remember to bring your registration slip, to make Check-In easier and to avoid hold-ups. You will receive your Santa suit/hat once you have checked in.

Other points:

  • We are very grateful to West Park Academy for hosting Darlington Santa Run 2021 and to Darlington Rotary Club for their sponsorship.
  • COVID-19: the event is largely outdoors but please remain cautious! Keep to a safe distance and, if you can, wear a face covering when moving around indoors. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, please stay at home!
  • There are loos just outside the main hall (they will be signposted).
  • You will receive a medal and refreshments at the end of your run/walk, and all children will receive a chocolate!
  • Our fantastic friends at The White Heifer That Travelled are also offering you 20% off food so why not pop in for your lunch after the event? Take along this letter or simply arrive in your Santa suit! The offer applies to food only and must be used on Sunday 5th December.
  • Please wear appropriate footwear. The Darlington Santa Run route is on tarmac or all-weather surfaces, but the route includes some hills, so sturdy shoes are a must.
  • We are sorry, but no spectators are allowed to run with you – however don’t forget to invite friends and family to take part or come along to cheer you on at the finish line!
  • Please see enclosed a map of the run route. Friendly volunteer marshals from Darlington Rotary and Darlington Lions will be on-hand throughout should you need any assistance.
  • As you know, this event is in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice so that we can continue to support people in the local area with free care and comfort. If you have raised any sponsorship and want to hand it in, please bring it with you and give it to the check-in team.
  • By entering, you have shown that you have read and understand the rules of the event.

We look forward to seeing you!
