Christmas Tree Collection

Our Christmas Tree Collection is back!

Enjoy your real Christmas tree, and we will collect it straight from your home for a donation in aid of your St Teresa’s Hospice, saving the mess in your car!

It’s a tree-mendous way to recycle of your Christmas tree and support your local hospice.

We’ll be collecting trees on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th January across DL1, DL2, DL3, DL4 and DL5 for a donation to support. We ask for a suggested minimum donation of £8 for a tree up to 6 foot, and £12 for a tree over 6 foot.

We will be collecting trees across the highlighted part of the map below. You can search for your address via the map below by clicking the square on the right hand side, or you can download the map here.

We can only collect from the above areas. If you book a tree collection outside of our collection area, we will be unable to collect your tree and then your collection will be cancelled.

*We will accept bookings until 12pm/midday on Wednesday 3rd January 2024. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept bookings submitted after this time.*

FAQ’s:

WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU NEED FROM ME?
To ensure we’re able to find your house and tree, we need to know your full address, the number of trees being collected, height of the tallest tree. If your home is difficult to find or has a name instead of a number, please add any helpful information in the ‘additional information’ section on our booking form.

WHEN WILL YOU COLLECT MY TREE?
We will be collecting trees on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th January. Please make sure your tree is out by 8.30am on Saturday 6th January to ensure we can collect it. We can’t guarantee which of the two days we will collect. Please rest assured that if for some reason your tree can’t be collected on these dates, we will return to collect it as soon as possible.

WHERE SHOULD I PUT MY TREE TO BE COLLECTED?
Please leave it on your property, as close to the road as possible and ensure it can be easily seen. If you have to leave it on the pavement, please make sure it is not a safety hazard to others. If it cannot be left in view, please include information on our ‘additional information’ section. Please ensure that your tree can be retrieved safely by our volunteers. Our volunteers are unable, under any circumstance, to enter your property (e.g. house, shed etc.).

Please ensure you have removed ALL decorations, tinsel and lights from your tree before you place it outside for collection. If your tree still has any decorations etc. on it when our volunteers arrive to collect it, they will be unable to take it away with them.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF YOU DON’T COLLECT MY TREE ON THE EXPECTED DAYS?
In the event that our operations are affected by factors outside of our control (including, but not limited to, severe weather which would make it unsafe to operate, vehicle breakdown, volunteer absence, Government Covid-19 restrictions) we reserve the right to extend the collection period. Should this happen, we will make every effort to communicate any change to the collection timescale to you directly, using the email you provided when booking, via announcements made on our website and our social media.

Our volunteers will be working hard to get all trees collected on time. If you see our vans and volunteers, and they seem to pass by without collecting your tree, they may be on another planned route. As long as you’ve booked to have your tree collected, our volunteers will be back to collect it.

If your tree hasn’t been collected on either Saturday 6th or Sunday 7th January, please rest assured we’ll be back for it as soon as we can.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN ONE TREE?
We can collect multiple trees from the same address however we need to know if you have more than one and what size it is. If you would like us to collect more than one tree, we do ask that you make a donation for each tree. If you would like to book tree collections from more than one address, please return to this page to complete the booking form for each address.

CAN I DONATE BY LEAVING CASH ON THE TREE?
Please do not leave cash donations on your tree. We only collect trees that have been booked via our website which includes an option to donate. If you are unable not to donate via our online form, please contact us and we will let you know how you can make your donation.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY TREE AFTER YOU’VE COLLECTED IT?
Our lovely supporters Greenworx recycle your tree by turning into chippings which will be used in areas such as parks or woodland areas.
