Specially trained nurses provide Lymphoedema support from the Woodlands Annexe.
- Lymphoedema is a disease which causes fluid to collect in the body’s tissues. It can affect anyone at any time and there is no cure. With the right treatment and advice it is controllable and can be managed with patient compliance to maximise quality of life.
- The Clinic offers patients support and information on how best to live with the disease, be it primary (determined from birth) or secondary (impaired lymphatic system as a result of surgery, radiotherapy, infection, severe injury, burns or trauma).
- The Hospice provides purpose built treatment rooms and admin facilities to make the Clinic possible.
- The Clinic operates for one full day fortnightly and is another good example of the Hospice working in partnership with others to benefit the community as a whole.
