Our Rainbow Rush is taking place on Sunday 18th July 2021*.

The Rainbow Rush will take place at Longfield Academy, Darlington. The run route will be on the Playing Field.

To ensure everyone is safe and Covid-19 secure, we will be completing the Rainbow Rush in Waves. The first Wave will start at 10am, and the last at 3.30pm. While we can’t promise which wave you will be assigned to, please let us know your preference when booking and we will try our best to assign you to that time slot.

* In the event of COVID restrictions being re-imposed we will postpone the event and we will transfer your place to the new date when confirmed.

Preparing & Training

For the full experience, we recommend runners wear their white t-shirt they are given at registration, so that the paint shows up as they are completing the course. It’s also important to wear comfortable trainers with enough support, and we recommend a change of clothes for after the Rush!

The Rush is designed to be family friendly and fun, so whether you are a seasoned runner or a beginner, the course should be okay for you! However, if you feel like you’re unable to tackle any of the obstacles, that’s also fine; you can follow the path around them and skip an obstacle if needed.

While the Rush is for families, we have an age restriction in place to keep everyone safe. Under 5’s will not be permitted to run the route, and children aged 5-16 will need to be accompanied by an adult taking part.

On the day

On the day, once you’ve completed your Wave, we will have some stalls and fun stuff.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, we will be limiting the number of spectators allowed on the day, and asking people once they’ve completed their Rush and enjoyed the stalls to please move on to allow the next Wave to take part.

The Waves will take place at the following times:

OPEN, 10am – 10:30am, 10:30am – 11:00 am, 11:00am – 11:30am, 11:30 am – 12:00pm, 12:00pm 12:30pm, (Break, 12:30-1:30pm), 1:30 – 2:00pm, 2:00 – 2:30pm, 2:30pm – 3:00pm, 3:00pm-3:30pm, 3:30pm -4:00pm, CLOSE.

The paint is water soluble, so whatever can’t be dusted off should come off after a good shower. If it stains, it should come out after a few washes. However, just to be on the same side we recommend you wear something you don’t mind getting dirty. If you WANT to keep your paint stains as a souvenir, you can spray your clothes with vinegar and iron them before washing which should help them set!
