Seasonal spectacular just days away

Concert-goers are in for another cracker of a Christmas as we make final preparations for our seasonal spectacular of music and song.

We will host the 19th annual Christmas Cracker Concert on Saturday, December 21, at the Dolphin Centre, Darlington.

The Yuletide extravaganza will feature an evening of festive fun, entertainment and audience sing-alongs, with carols including O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, We Wish You a Merry Christmas and many more.

Chief Executive of St Teresa’s Hospice Jane Bradshaw said: “Our first Christmas Cracker Concert was held 19 years ago, and it is now firmly established as a traditional event to herald in Christmas in the area. Everyone at the hospice feels privileged that it is a fundraising event in aid of our cause.

“St Teresa’s Hospice is more than 30-years-old and the contribution it makes to local people continues to develop each year thanks to donations received. All of this is only possible due to the combined efforts of our staff, volunteers, the people of Darlington and District and everyone who donates their time and considerable expertise free of charge, resulting in a magical evening of music, songs and carols.”

Musical director John Forsyth MBE will conduct the St Teresa’s Sinfonia Choir and Orchestra featuring the Darlington Choral Society, Darlington SING Community Choir, Cleveland Philharmonic Choir, Cockerton Ladies Choir, Egglescliffe Youth Choir, Richardson Singers, Richmondshire Choral Society, St Teresa’s Hospice Staff and Supporters Choir, Tees Valley Youth Chamber Choir, Vocal Collective and Vocal Soul.

“We are thrilled that our own hospice choir, inspired by this lovely event, will join the concert once again this year,” added Mrs Bradshaw.

“There will also be a chance to win a luxury hamper in our raffle and mulled wine and mince pies will be available on the night. I’m sure it will be another fabulous evening for the whole community.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance from the hospice, St T’s shops, the Dolphin Centre, or online at
