INFORMATION FOR ST TERESA’S HOSPICE PATIENTS, STAFF, CARERS, FRIENDS AND VOLUNTEERS. (LAST UPDATED 17/07/20)
We sincerely hope you are keeping safe in these challenging times.
We are reviewing our plans daily and also have weekly calls scheduled with Hospice UK and NHS England in collaboration with the other Hospices nationwide. We are following advice from Hospice UK/NHS England and Public Health England
ALL STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS: your usual manager or team leader will have been in touch. Thank you for your sterling efforts, as ever – you are a force to be reckoned with! If you are displaying any symptoms, please don’t come in but please do ring your manager or team leader about this or with any other concerns. Thank you so much.
OUTPATIENTS: We are continuing to offer outpatients a service via telephone support. From July we can offer a limited number of 1:1 consultations for lymphoedema and acupuncture. Existing patients can phone the General office for advice 01325 254321
COMMUNITY HOSPICE AT HOME AND RAPID RESPONSE TEAMS: are continuing to provide a service and we are very grateful to our wonderful teams. They will call you in advance if you are expecting a visit, and will also request handwashing facilities on arrival.
IN PATIENT UNIT – VISITING: this has necessarily been limited as follows:
New arrangements for IPU – 10th July 2020; Please always phone ahead because of the ever-changing nature of advice:-
- Each patient can now nominate 2 visitors, who can visit the patient within their bedroom, wearing the necessary PPE.
- Each patient can have a maximum of 4 hours of visiting each day.
- No more than 2 separate visits per patient a day. This is to reduce the number of visitors coming in and out of the unit.
- All visits must still be booked ahead of time and screening questions will be asked.
- Preferred visiting hours are 10 am to 6 pm each day.
HANDWASHING: we are instructing all people entering the Hospice building to please go and wash their hands before signing in. (Staff will give directions and handwashing instructions are displayed in the bathrooms).
FUNDRAISING: Unfortunately it has been necessary to postpone or cancel a number of fundraising events. Please bear with us… these are a vital source of income and wherever possible will be reinstated in due course. In the meantime we have launched an urgent appeal to try to tide us over as our cash flow has been decimated! – PLEASE VISIT AND PASS ON THIS LINK TO OTHERS TO SEND A HUG TO ST TERESA’S – THANKS!!! https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/HugToStTs
Please note that there will be a slight delay in us sending out a thank-you letter to acknowledge your kind donations. Please accept our apologies. To speak to Supporter Services about your donation please call 01325 254321 or email [email protected].
